Last Night...

So last night, or this morning I should say, since it was at 5 am...My little sister came into my room, crying. She told me that she had been having nightmares. I told her to go get her pillow and come lay down on my bed. I was almost asleep when she started crying again, and said "I can't forget it...it's really scary!" Then I laid hands on her and prayed for her. After that, about 10 minutes later she says "I still can't forget..." I told her that it was just Satan trying to make her scared, and to tell him to stop it. I prayed for her in my head before I finally went back to sleep.

I guess this is a post about fear. When prayed for her, I asked God to remind her that she is made in perfect love, and doesn't have to fear.

The Bible has a lot to say about fear...

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Psalm 91:4-8

But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”Mark 5:36

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4

We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear, in holiness and righteousness for as long as we live. Luke 1:74-75

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18

Just pray about it...Thank God that you have nothing to fear, and ask Him to help you understand that better. Jesus is with you always...Remember that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came that we might have life, and life abundant! Jesus is always there for you, just ask Him to help you see that more clearly!
