Theres a part that says
"Love is leading me
Holding nail-scarred hands
Forgetting where I'm from or who I've been
Love has carried me
On His broken back
To a place where I can finally see
This love is free"
And it sparked something in me.
And Jesus gave me the words...
"It doesn't end at the cross."
One thought lead to another...and here's whats going on in my mind right now:
It does not end at the cross.
Jesus didnt live His life on earth, die on the cross, rise again and say "Have a happy life, I'll see you in heaven."
I'm so glad it's not like that.
Jesus lived His life and taught us so much through His life. He died on the cross a very serious, and painful death. He rose again to give us life. And he said that He would always be there to comfort us and provide for us. We're never alone, cuz He's always by our side, going through what we're going through, hurting for us when we're hurting about things.
He carries us on His broken back.
Countless times we have broken His heart, but He'd rather be the one broken than us. He breaks us only so that we can be renewed, to what we could have never been on our own.
He was broken because of us...
He surrendered Himself for us.
The Bible says that nobody took his life from Him, but that he laid it down for His friends.
Thats so beautiful.
Nobody took His life from Him. He laid his life down for me. He did it for you!
Its breaking my heart...
Because...every time I'm hurting, and everytime I'm struggling, Jesus sees that, and He feels the same way that we are.
There's this one verse in the Bible that says we don't have a high priest who cannot sympathize with us...Jesus was tempted and tried in every way possible.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Hebrews 4:15
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18
He was tempted in every way.
EVERY way.
EVERY WAY!
Think of the ways you've been tempted...
and tell yourself, Jesus went through this too. He knows how it feels.
Jesus was tempted in every way possible. He was hurt in every way possible. He knows how we feel, so that should be of even more comfort to us. He comforts us! And He will help us get through it!
It breaks His heart when He sees us suffering, but He comforts us.
Jesus is just so awesome. He's more awesome than I could ever know or imagine. <3
