Love will find you...

There's this song that I've been listening to almost nonstop lately. Its been speaking to me a lot right now. I guess this would kind-of be my interpretation of it...or what it means to me.

I can see you lost your way
It's just easier to hide
but He sees inside Your soul
where Your past cannot not define

You've been heading down this road
and you don't know who you are
but he knows what's in your thoughts
and he feels what's in your heart

This part of the song, to me, basically means that who I was before I was a Christian doesn't matter to God. All that matters now is where I'm at with Him, in terms of Our relationship. He sees my heart and He knows what I'm feeling and why I'm feeling that way. He empathizes with me, and comforts me even though I may have caused my own hurt.

You could run till you can't find home
Sail till you can't see land
There is no place you could go

You could fall till your out of hope
Chase things that never last
You could never run too far
Love will find you where you are

This part reminds me of the story of Jonah, or Jesus' parable of the lost son. It also happens to be my favorite part of the song. I could go anywhere in the world, doing anything in the world and God would STILL love me. He would never give up on me, or decide that He can't love me because I sin in a certain way. He loves me where I'm at in a physical sense, along with where I'm at spiritually. (again, in terms of my relationship with Him) I feel like the line that says "You could fall till you're out of hope, Chase things that never last" puts a picture in my head. I can see myself pursuing things that aren't God, and getting distracted by things of this world. In my mind I see me chasing things...(I guess that represents infatuations) But when the next part, "You could never run too far, Love will find you where you are" comes on, I see myself falling back into a mattress that I am engulfed by. In my mind its enormous and fluffy, and it represents love. And God is Love. So basically I'm falling into Him, and I don't even care. Because I am so consumed by it, that it takes all of my cares away.

I wish I could say that I feel that way about God's love all the time. That I feel like I'm drowning in it. But I honestly can't. And I don't think there's a person in this world that can. Have I ever felt that way? Yes, lots of times. But not always. And that's okay, because if we felt that way at all times, there would be no need for Faith. And faith is vital for your relationship with God.

The thing I like about the parable of the Prodigal Son is that Jesus told it to represent Gods Love. No matter how far we fall away, He's willing to go to the ends of the earth to make things right again. That's amazing. That is true love right there.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
