Encouraging Others...and Witnessing

I feel like I haven't posted in forever! I've been so busy that I've barely even had time to breathe!

On Wednesday, my pastor was talking about how we shouldn't let the enemy weaken our voice.

It was a really good message, which lead me to think of something:

We need to be encouraging our friends in the Lord. What I mean is, we should be helping each other become the people that God intended for us to be. If you feel like God is telling you to give someone a word of encouragement, you should do so.

Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

I felt God was telling me to tell my friend something...and to be honest, I was kind of scared to. I didn't know what they would think! We go to different churches, so I didn't know if they believed God could speak to someone on somebody else's behalf.
I did end up texting them, though. That's the only way we could talk at the time.
I ended up saying something similar to this:

James 3:5
A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything

1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity

I feel like God wants you to be very influential with the people around you. You may think to yourself that you're only one person, and that you can't make that much of a difference, but you really can! We are called to be examples for other people, we are called to represent Christ. We have the same power in us that Jesus had in Him. We get that power from the Holy Spirit. You may be scared of what people think, or that you'll say the wrong thing...but the thing is...The Bible says that God will speak through us when we need Him to. And who cares what people think? Jesus was the most frowned upon man in history! And if it hadn't been for that, we wouldn't have the opportunity to be saved through His death on the cross. And sometimes, you don't even have to use words. Just love on people, and pray for them throughout your day. You don't even have to pray out loud. Jesus says that the world will know that we are His disciples if we just love one another as He loved us.

This goes for all of us. We need to be loving on people that we feel don't deserve it. If we got what we deserve, we'd all be in hell. But we're going to heaven, and isn't that worth sharing?!?!

So, I urge you to pray for that one person in your mind when I say "Undeserving". Maybe its that punk kid at school that you think would never be saved. Or that old teacher that always nags, or that ex boyfriend or girlfriend of yours that you can't stand anymore. Pray for them, and ask God to move mightily for their sake.

This song is great for inspiration:

Now be blessed :)
